Tangled at Prague Quadriennal 2019

Tangled_2019

Tangled is based on mutating cancer cells and consists of up to four inflatable and illuminated suits which are inhabited by two performers each. Tangled is  a performative durational creative work which explores the disruption caused by out of control cell division.. Moving through the night time environment of Prague and the Prague Exhibition Grounds at Prague Quadrennial also creates challenges of navigation, encounter and the potential for failure. At the Institute for Research in Biomedicine Tangled roamed the corridors of the institute, finally settling in the oncology lab. There, scientists donned the Tangled suits and enacted the mutating cell divisions they’d been studying. Confusion, chaos, laughter and disruption played out as Tangled encountered a variety of scientists and lab conditions.
